Hydro Jetting in Iowa City
Hydro Jetting That Cleans the Whole Pipe, Not Just a Hole Through It
A drain cable is the right tool for a single clog. It opens the line fast. But when the problem is spread along the pipe, such as years of kitchen grease, soap scum in a long run, or the fine root hair a cutter leaves behind, a cable only opens a path through it. The drain runs for a few weeks, then slows down again.
Hydro jetting washes the pipe wall itself. A jetter pushes water through a hose to a nozzle with jets angled backward, which pulls the nozzle down the line while it scrubs. We feed it in through a cleanout, work it to the end of the problem section and pull it back slowly so the whole length comes out clean.
Jetting is a good fit for Iowa City kitchens that clog every few months, older houses near downtown and campus that have been split into apartments with several tenants sharing one line, and restaurant lines between grease trap pump-outs. Not sure your line needs it? Start with a standard drain cleaning and we'll tell you if jetting would help.
